A New Technology for an Old Devotion
Making their debut on the Feast of St. Anthony were a series of new devotional candles throughout the upper and lower churches.

Constructed of handsome oak cabinetry to match the interior woodwork of the church, the candles are unique in that they are made of actual wax, but with electrified "flames."

Since open flames are both a safety hazard and an insurance risk, churches have had to turn to modern technologies to find adequate substitutes for an old prayer form.  We hope you will find the new candles to be the almost-perfect substitute.

We would also like to introduce a new opportunity for you to honor or memorialize a loved one by having a candle lit for a period of one year in the Shrine of St. Anthony in the back of the Lower Church.

A small plaque displaying the name of your loved one or a special intention will be mounted below the candle.  The annual offering for each candle is $200.00 which will benefit the ministries of St. Francis Church.  If you would like more information about the memorial candles, simply call our Development Office at 212-736-8500, Ext. 300 or fill out the form below. You can complete your donation online by clicking on the button below or print out and mail the bottom portion of this page with your check.
