The sacrament of Confirmation, along with Baptism and Eucharist, is one of the three sacraments of initiation. At Confirmation the Holy Spirit strengthens the baptized Christian and endows her or him with gifts to enable us to carry out our mission to be Christ in the world and to continue building God’s kingdom. To be fully a member of the church, one needs to be baptized, confirmed and receive first Eucharist. If you are a member of St. Francis of Assisi and have a child from 12 to 16 years old who needs to receive the sacrament of Confirmation, please call or email:

If you are an adult who was baptized in another Christian tradition and would like to become Catholic, or if you were baptized Catholic but for whatever reason did not yet receive confirmation, please see our page on the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults.
