Devotion for the Nine Tuesdays before
Christmas
L. In the name of the Father and of the Son and
of the Holy Spirit.
A. Amen.
L. See, the Lord is coming and with him all his saints. Then
there will be endless days.
A. The Lord is just. He will award the Crown of justice to
all who have longed for his coming.
L. The Lord is coming and will not delay, he will bring every
hidden thing to light and reveal himself to every nation.
A. The Lord our God comes in strength and will fill his
servants with joy.
Prayer To God By St. Anthony
L. O heavenly Father,
A. We beg through our Lord Jesus Christ, whom you have made
the sacrifice that takes away our sins, to receive our prayers
and offering: and, through him, to give us the grace to be
reconciled to you and one another. Then, being at peace with you
and each other, we may be able to offer sacrifices of praise
with the holy angels before your altar in heaven above. This we
ask of you who are blessed forever.
Amen.
Reading
Silent Reflection
Responsory
L. Come Lord from your throne which is above.
A. Let us see your face and we shall be saved.
L. Soon the Lord will come, and you will call him Emmanuel, for
God is with us.
A. Blessed are they who believe that the promises of the Lord
will be fulfilled.

Intercessions
L. We give you thanks, O God, for revealing your power in the
creation of the universe, and for your providence in the life of
the world, for man made in your image to rule in your name over
the other creatures.
A. We bless your holy name as we honor you through St.
Anthony.
L. For the victory of light over darkness, of truth over error,
for the knowledge of your prophetic word setting us free from
fear and despair, for the advancement of your reign of justice
and of peace, of holiness and of love.
A. We bless your holy name as we honor you through St.
Anthony.
L. For the revelation of your Kingdom among us by your Son,
Jesus Christ, who came on earth to manifest and to accomplish
your will; for his humble birth and his holy life, for his words
and miracles, for his suffering and death, for his entry into
kingship by his resurrection and ascension.
A. We bless your holy name as we honor you in St. Anthony.
L. For the founding of the universal Church spread to the
ends of the earth, for the coming of your Kingdom within us by
the gift of your Holy Spirit, and for the advent of your Kingdom
in the end of time when you will be all in all.
A. We bless your holy name as we honor you in St. Anthony.
Paduan Prayer To St. Anthony
L. O Holy St. Anthony
A. We come to invoke your help, confident of experiencing
your goodness and your power, the consolation of so many people.
Pray for us to the father of mercies. In our name, speak to him
that we may obtain the particular graces we need.
(Pause For Personal Petitions)
True follower of St. Francis, help us to imitate your
life and work for God and for our brothers and sisters in the
Lord. Put into our hearts the flame of Your love that we may
love our merciful God in Heaven and our neighbors as ourselves.
Pray that we may fulfill the will of our heavenly father, and
live the way Jesus shows us in the gospels. Be a guide for us
this day that we may recognize the opportunities God gives us to
be selfless and not selfish. Assist us in keeping the promises
we made at our baptism. Help us to obtain the grace to walk
in the light of faith, and to proclaim that faith by the way we
live. Guide our devotion so that we may live with you the gospel
of Christ and grow with you in his love. Amen.
L. St. Anthony, light of the Holy Church, lover of God’s law and
doctor of the gospel. Pray for us to the Son of God, whose
coming we await.
L. Let us pray to God in the words that Jesus taught us.
A. Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your
kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive
those who sin against us. Save us from the time of trial. And
deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power and the glory
are yours now and forever.
L. Let us pray.
A. We thank you Father for giving us St. Anthony who had such
great devotion to the incarnation
of your son. As we prepare to celebrate the feast of Christmas,
help us through the intercession of St. Anthony. Let our lives
be honest and holy in this time, and help us to wait in joyful
hope for the coming of our Savior Jesus Christ, who lives with
you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
L. The Lord be with you
A. And also with you.
L. Bow your heads and ask for God’s blessing. May the Lord bless
you and keep you. May the Lord let his face shine upon you and
have mercy on you. May the Lord look upon you with kindness and
give you his peace. May the Lord bless you, the Father, and the
Son and the Holy Spirit.
Amen. |
