Ugnayan (Filipino Fellowship)

At the reception desk of the Spring Dance on May 10, at the San Damiano Hall of St. Francis of Assisi are seated Jean Lagman, Mila Brillantes, Gilbert Abraham, standing Regina and Helen Itliong, Alex Rada, Princess Santiago and Chris Tabi

Meets 5:30 to 7:30pm each Wednesday in St. Francis Center.  A monthly Mass is  celebrated on the First Friday in the Lower Church.

The name of the ministry is UGNAYAN (Filipino Fellowship) at St. Francis of Assisi Church. Our mission statement is -

"UGNAYAN is a committed Filipino community at St. Francis of Assisi Parish that professes to live the gospel and expresses love for Christ through prayers and ministry to one another and those others in need, to lift the spirit of the alienated and the newly-arrived by creating a 'home away from home".

Goals and Objectives:
1. To able to nurture committed leaders through formations, workshops and seminars.

2. To promote awareness and encourage participation of members to fulfill the mission of UGNAYAN.

3. To form linkages and foster collaborative ministry with other organized groups and communities in the area, i.e. Korean, Spanish communities and the Filipino Apostolate in the Archdiocese of New York,"

Our ministry is officially a member of the Archdiocese of New York's program FILIPINO APOSTOLATE. Aside from our regular First Friday Community Mass, the group meets in a fellowship Immediately after the mass to share experiences and meet some friends.. We also meet in a bible sharing session on the Wednesday following the first Friday and the following Wednesdays are our choir practice.
