One Hour Challenge

Dear Members of St. Francis of Assisi,

As members of the family of the Church of Saint Francis of Assisi, you know firsthand that our church offers the sacraments, outreach ministries, educational opportunities, and much more to the hundreds of people who come through our doors each day. Our Friars, staff and volunteers work tirelessly to provide these life-giving ministries and outreach activities. Because we love our church, it is important for us to care for it and to assist with the financial challenges that come with growth.

While basic expenses have increased over the years, the monies from our weekly collection have not kept pace. We hope our Give One Hour campaign will challenge all of us to increase our weekly donations to the equivalent of one hour of our weekly salary. The fact is, our weekly collections fail to cover our regular expenses. We need everyone’s help to reverse this situation quickly!

If you are ready to make your financial commitment now,
you can do so online here.

I thank you for all that you do for the Church of Saint Francis of Assisi. On behalf of the Friars and our staff, I thank you for your help.

Sincerely yours in St. Francis,

-Father Andrew J. Reitz, OFM

Financial Facts:

Did you know that Saint Francis, like all parishes, must raise 100 % of the money we need to payour bills?

We do not receive any financial support from the Archdiocese of New York but in actuality we must send money to the Archdiocese to cover mandatory expenditures outside of the services offered here at Saint Francis.

PRAYER OF MY HOUR
FOR THE MISSION OF THE CHURCH

O God, I thank you for my work which provides for my needs.
All of my time is a gift from You.

I offer to you this hour of my work
for the mission of the Church.
Use this hour of my salary to continue to build your Kingdom.
May this hour which I give to the Church
enable my brothers and sisters
to feed the hungry,
clothe the naked,
visit the sick,
welcome back the sinner,
console the grieving,
and offer up the bread and wine for all of us
.May this hour of my work be joined to the work of the whole Church,
that together we may be the living sacrifice which sanctifies the world.

All glory, praise and honor be to you, O God,
forever and ever.

Amen.
