Easter
In the post-Easter appearances of the Jesus to the
disciples one notices how difficult it is at first for the disciples to
recognize Jesus, for example, Mary Magdalene at the tomb, the disciples
on the way to Emmaus, etc. How easy it is to miss the Lord when the
focus in on ourselves or our own grief.
Jesus is alive today and calls me by name. He calls you by name. He
invites us to recognize today that we have NEW LIFE in Him. Jesus
invites us to join Him in knowing that sin and death no longer hold
power over us. Like Mary and the other disciples we are called to
witness to our faith in the risen Lord. Perhaps a good question to ask
ourselves is this: How and when do I relate to others what my faith in
Jesus means to me?
Take time today in order to ponder, pray, and give thanks for the power
of the risen Christ present in your heart!
