About our website

During our pastoral planning that the pastor and staff engaged in from 2010 to 2011, one goal we set out was to completely redesign the Church of St. Francis of Assisi website.  We wanted a simple, easy to navigate design  that reflects our community, the beautiful historic building in which we come together to worship God, and the great city in which we live. We wanted our site to be easily updated to keep you posted on what is happening at your church. And we wanted to make this an interactive experience for you.   This new site was launched in June 2011.

HOW THE NAVIGATION WORKS

About Us

Here you will find information about the church, the staff, and the artwork in our buildings. You will also find photo galleries. It is our goal to continuously update these galleries, and we’d like your help. If you are a photographer and would like to help capture life here at St. Francis please let us know. You can contact Edward Trochimcuk at etrochimczuk@stfrancisnyc.org. Or if you have photos you have taken here and would like to share them with everyone in a gallery, just email them to us.

Worship

Here you will find all seven sacraments and information about how to celebrate them. For example, under Marriage you will find links to our Wedding Policies and the Archdiocese of New York’s marriage preparation page.

Outreach

This area contains the ministries that reach out to others in need here at St. Francis and beyond; some are activities undertaken by staff and volunteers at St. Francis, like RENEW and the seniors ministry; others are self-run, like the 12-step programs which we simply host; still others, like the breadline and the counseling center are separately incorporated but are still run by the friars at 31st Street.

Korean Community

The Korean community is a vibrant, active community within the larger community at St. Francis. This link brings you to the Korean website with information about what is happening in the Korean Community.

Directions and Schedules

The most sought-after information are Mass and confession times and directions to the church. These are instantly available at the click of a button from the top right of any page of the site.

KEEPING YOU POSTED ON WHAT’S HAPPENING

News and Upcoming Events will keep you posted on everything going on in the parish. Each week we also post the current bulletin.

OUR SITE IS INTERACTIVE

You will also find other ways to interact with St. Francis via out website. You can:

  • Find our Facebook page where you can also follow what is going on at the Church of St. Francis of Assisi, and you can post your comments about your experience. This is a great way for us to hear from each other.
  • Sign up for online giving to streamline and organize your financial support of our church

A word about our photos…

You will notice that our homepage has photos that change. We plan to rotate these images to captures different aspects of life at St. Francis of Assisi and the different seasons of the year. All other pages feature photos that are randomly chosen from a collection of our photographs. These photos are a mixture of images from our beloved church and from around our great city. After all, we are the heart of New York! If you have a great photo of the church or New York City that you would like to share, send it to us and we might be able post it.  (send photos to: jnuzzi@stfrancisnyc.org)

We hope you take some time to peruse our new website. We built it for you.

The friars and the staff at St. Francis of Assisi are grateful to Chris Richter, owner of Squared Cloud, who designed and built our new website. Chris is new convert to Catholicism; he was baptized at St. Francis of Assisi in 2010 and is a parishioner of our church.
